Car lockout questions
The key is lost, not locked inside. Can you help?
No. We do not cut, replace, copy or program car keys, and we do not supply remotes. If the key is lost rather than locked inside, the main dealer for your make or an auto key specialist is who you need.
It is a hire car. Should I call the rental company first?
Yes, if you can. Most rental contracts include roadside assistance, and some ask you not to use anyone else. If they tell you to arrange it yourself, or cannot come in reasonable time, call us.
Will opening the door damage the car?
The aim is none, using tools made to open vehicle doors through the gap without forcing the frame. Some recent models with deadlocking cannot be opened this way; you are told on the phone if yours is likely to be one.
What do you need to see before opening a car?
The vehicle documents or rental agreement once the door is open, and your identification. If they are locked inside, we check them before you drive off.
How much does a car opening cost?
It depends on the vehicle and the time of day. The price is given on the phone before anyone travels.
